I am grateful for the opportunity to work with people as they courageously walk through life's challenges and hardships. I am honored to provide therapy to individuals, couples and families as an intern under the dual supervision of Rick Underwood, LPC and Kenny Sanderfer, LMFT, approved EFT supervisor.
I have a passion for helping individuals who are struggling with relationships, life challenges or personal distress using the Emotionally Focused Therapy model. I desire to walk with people, using emotions as a guide, to a place of deep understanding, self-worth and authentic joy. I recently completed a 48 hour externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy and hope to continue on the path to becoming an EFT certified therapist.
I have completed my coursework and will graduate from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in August of 2012. I am a trained facilitator for the Prepare/Enrich pre-marital couples program. I also have 3 years of experience as a case manager working with at-risk youth and adolescents and their families. I am a student member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Nashville Area Association of Christian Counselors.
After moving around quite a bit as a child, my family settled in Nashville, a place my husband Ben and I now call home. I attended undergraduate school at Auburn University where I had the opportunity to play soccer for their women's team. I graduated from Auburn with a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Ben and I have been married a little over a year and we enjoy Auburn football, spending time with friends and taking our very spoiled dog Wilson to the park.
